In protest to the Waldorf Hotel being sold to condo developers,
I drew this: LIFE! NOT HEIGHT. Although it doesn't rhyme exactly, I feel like it really expresses the state of arts in Vancouver BC Canada.
The push is for more condos, more condos, and more condos. Not much else. No respect or appreciation of the value of art in citizen's lives.
I added a drawing I had made of The Waldorf, and distributed it widely, both online and in print. It met with excellent reception from Waldorf owners, Waldorf patrons, and the media.
This is the original drawing, without the Waldorf, that can be used to fight any unnecessary condo development where the worth of established cultural venues is much greater.
