Drawing: Portrait of Grandpa Tanasiychuk
The completed sketch of my Grandpa Tanasiychuk who passed away in July 2012. He was a good strong happy man who cared deeply for his huge family. His sense of humour was sharp and witty. With this portrait, I kept the lines soft, as although he was tough as nails after a lifetime of farming & roofing, Elias Tanasiychuk was a gentle soul. It was also crucial that I achieved his likeness, especially in his smile, which is undeniably unique.
